A Director of Quality Assurance oversees and directs the overall operations of quality assurance within a company to ensure continuous improvement and compliance.
LeFiell Manufacturing Company, is an Employee Owned (ESOP) Company and an innovative global leader providing highly engineered precision metallic tubular parts and assemblies for the commercial aircraft, defense, and space segments of the aerospace industry. The Company is seeking an experienced Director of Quality Assurance to join its leadership team. The successful candidate will be a technical leader with extensive aerospace manufacturing experience and a proven record of successfully managing customer audits, AS9100 Certification, NADCAP audits while providing leadership, mentoring, positive guidance and critical feedback to a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Inspectors, Quality Engineers and NDT technicians. Responsible for implementing quality compliance, assurance, control and improvement initiatives across the enterprise. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide leadership and guidance to improve the process quality through data driven decision making while reducing cost of poor quality Implement improvements to the QMS system and procedures using Lean Manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure quality of the product leaving the facility Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of equipment and testing Ensure the development of standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation Drive improvements for quality standards and supplier certification and supplier quality monitoring Maintain successful
AS9100 & NADCAP
certifications through effective Internal Audits Support Business Development with pre-qualification quality audits by customers. Supports contract reviews for new contract awards, customer and supplier LTA. Know and enforce compliance with government regulations such as
FAA, ITAR
Co-ordinate and engage with customer/supplier technical teams to resolve MRB matters Review quality trends and provide management with long-term strategic initiatives Provide resources to track root cause of problems and oversee the performance of corrective actions Establish effective metrics to improve first pass yield, scrap, rework and risk management Establish and implement continuous improvement systems and methods such as cost savings measures Develop, and manage to, departmental budget Background & Experience The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Education:
BA/BS Degree required and Advanced Degree is desired and/or years of industry experience can substitute for education Experience, knowledge and skills: An experienced professional with 10 plus years of experience and demonstrated leadership abilities and results in any number of aerospace industry fields. The ideal candidate will have the following preferred experience; Expert knowledge of
AS9100, NADCAP
(Heat Treat, NDT - Penetrant, Mag, UT) requirements and implementation Knowledge of OEM Quality Processes such as Boeing (Commercial; Military), Pratt&Whitney, MHI, Aerojet Rocketdyne and Airbus Demonstrated development, leadership, presentation and interpersonal skills Exposure to AI-enabled environment would be a plus Experience in a metal forming manufacturing environment would be a plus

Comfortable with frequent interactions on the shop floor Vision & Business results driven with good communication skills Able to work with cross functional departments. Compensation Base salary in the range of $135,000 - $145,000 Eligible for annual discretionary bonus Company contributes approximately 15% of total compensation towards retirement in the form of equity through the ESOP Salaried Personnel work 9 hour work days Monday through
