Monday - Friday Overtime as required Overview SkillsetGroup is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor I for an aerospace manufacturing client. This role is responsible for overseeing quality control programs, inspection activities, and quality assurance personnel to ensure products meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience within a manufacturing or aerospace environment and will support continuous improvement, employee development, and quality compliance initiatives. Responsibilities Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish quality and reliability standards Review quality inspection rejections and participate in PMRT activities Coordinate quality objectives with production procedures to maximize product quality and minimize costs Supervise inspectors, NDT personnel, QA administrators, and lab technicians Direct inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities for materials, products, and processes Investigate and resolve customer quality complaints Plan, organize, and conduct employee quality and reliability training activities Conduct employee coaching, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and staffing activities Interview, hire, train, and develop quality assurance personnel Maintain training records and ensure employees are trained on departmental procedures and safety requirements Support HSE, OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance initiatives Promote waste reduction and continuous improvement activities Coordinate planning and scheduling functions within the quality department Participate in safety committees and maintain compliance with company safety policies Perform additional quality-related duties as assigned Qualifications Associate degree and/or equivalent experience required Bachelor's degree preferred 2-4+ years of related quality assurance or supervisory experience in manufacturing or aerospace environments Experience supervising quality inspectors, NDT personnel, or lab technicians preferred Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality systems Ability to analyze data and resolve quality-related issues Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and procedures Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Experience with performance management, employee development, and training Basic computer proficiency including spreadsheets and word processing software Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving abilities Ability to adapt to changing priorities and fast-paced production environments Team Structure Direct oversight of: Inspectors NDT Personnel QA Test Certification Staff QA Administrators Lab Technicians Work Environment Aerospace manufacturing environment Exposure to moderate to loud industrial noise levels Frequent standing and walking in production areas Use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and proper footwear required Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 15 lbs Frequent use of hands for repetitive movements and manual dexterity tasks Close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment required Performance Expectations Maintain product quality and compliance with customer and regulatory standards Lead and develop high-performing quality assurance teams Support continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives Ensure timely resolution of quality issues and customer concerns Maintain compliance with HSE, OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements Drive operational efficiency and quality system performance
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
