Distribution Center & Operations Manager Position Summary The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and enforcing all quality, food safety, sanitation, and compliance programs within the Distribution Center. This role ensures that all products and services meet internal standards, customer expectations, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance Manager oversees Quality Assurance, Cheese, and Janitorial departments across all shifts and serves as the primary liaison between operations, customers, and regulatory bodies regarding quality and food safety matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of the Quality Assurance, Cheese, and Janitorial departments across all shifts. Supervise warehouse quality operations to ensure product integrity, safety, and compliance. Promote a positive, collaborative work environment while serving as a team builder and mentor. Assign duties, manage staffing levels, schedule work hours, breaks, and vacations. Conduct employee performance evaluations in accordance with HR policies. Work closely with warehouse supervisors and associates to ensure alignment with quality, productivity, and operational goals. Quality Systems & Compliance Manage and maintain all quality inspection, product release, and hold programs for incoming, in-process, and finished goods. Enforce plant quality standards, food safety programs, and sanitation requirements. Monitor, enforce, and continuously improve HACCP programs , GMP compliance, and food safety initiatives. Ensure compliance withSQF, HACCP, GMP
, and all federal, state, and local food safety regulations. Maintain working knowledge ofMSDS/SDS
documentation and chemical safety requirements. Increase awareness, training, and accountability related to Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the facility. Documentation & Reporting Prepare, review, and analyze quality documentation and reports, including: Non-conformances and failed processes Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) Recalls and re-validations Audit findings and trends Ensure all QA programs, procedures, and records are implemented, maintained, and audited correctly. Customer & Client Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for customer quality-related communications. Correspond professionally with clients via email regarding quality concerns, documentation, and corrective actions. Investigate customer complaints, discrepancy reports, and quality issues; implement resolutions to restore and maintain strong client relationships. Oversee store order quality processes to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. Safety & Sanitation Ensure adherence to all food safety, employee safety, production, and sanitation standards. Work collaboratively with operations to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant Distribution Center environment. Additional Responsibilities Maintain flexibility to support business needs across shifts as required. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Distribution Center and Operations Manager. Minimum QualificationsEducation & Experience Some college-level coursework in management, food science, or related field preferred. Minimum 2 years of Quality Assurance or Production Supervisory experience in a wholesale or distribution environment. Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SQF, HACCP, and GMP principles ; certifications preferred. Skills & Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a diverse workforce. High level of computer proficiency, including MS Office (Excel required) and WMS systems . Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions. Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 25 lbs . Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.
