Job Description

Position Summary Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager, the Quality Assurance (QA) Administrator is responsible for managing the Document Control System and maintaining all documents to include managing document processes and tracking procedure training. Position Responsibilities This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee may perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing needs of American Peanut Ingredients (API). Review Quality and Food Safety/HACCP production documentation to ensure product compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and BRC certification requirements. Maintain positive release of production lots awaiting record review and receipt of acceptable third-party laboratory results. Generate Certificates of Analysis for production lots based on customer specifications for reporting results. Maintain records of all product holds, dispositions, and food safety CCP deviations. Submit analysis requests to third-party laboratory and maintain results of analysis. Maintain QA and R&D lab equipment calibration schedules and certificates. Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, programs, and production paperwork Assist in Food Safety and Quality Training as directed by the Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager. Review documentation and ensure it is documented appropriately and adequately. Handle customer requests such as documentation, samples, etc., and coordinate required follow-up actions when needed. Perform internal facility audits to be able to track non-conformities and the respective corrective actions. Track all quality holds, prepare deviation paperwork and other documents for the QAFS Manager. Ensure compliance to federal and state laws, as well as company standards and specifications. Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency. Attend daily shift huddle meetings with team discussing safety, food safety, quality, and production needs and or misses from previous day. Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime, if necessary), and able to be put on call-in schedule. Sanitation Schedule and Preventive Control Rules Execute the Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan effectiveness and conformance with SQF system requirements. Ensure compliance with appropriate safety practices and procedures and with applicable Federal, State and local codes, regulations and requirements. Follow API Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines. Follow all API Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Understand and follow API safety policies, work safely and report any safety hazards or unsafe conditions to the Plant Manager, your Immediate Supervisor, or Safety Coordinator. Demonstrate good communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team. Successfully complete all required monthly API training modules within the allotted time periods. Physical Activities Climbing stairs and ladders occasionally Walking and Lifting Reaching overhead, at or below shoulder level Bending, twisting and stooping Sitting for an extended period of time Gross manipulation and physical dexterity Properly lift and carry 25 lbs. regularly, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally Position Requirements Ability to multi-task Communicate effectively, and read, write and comprehend English Have basic computer knowledge and perform basic mathematic equations Ability to be a team player and work alone, self-directed, or with no supervision Expected hours: 40.0 per week
