Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable standards such as ISO and UL. This role serves as the primary link between strategic quality direction set by the Director of Quality and the operational execution carried out by quality staff. The Quality Manager leads quality personnel, drives process adherence, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures timely resolution of quality issues through collaboration with production, engineering, and suppliers.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and support Quality staff to ensure effective execution of quality processes. Ensure site audit readiness and maintain compliance with Quality Management System requirements. (ISO, UL, and customer-specific standards) Oversee and maintain documentation including procedures, work instructions, and quality records. Monitor product quality and manufacturing processes to ensure conformance to specifications and customer requirements. Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal and external quality issues. Manage site CCR/RMA and SNCR processes, ensuring timely evaluation, disposition, and closure. Coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up on findings. Partner with production and engineering to improve process capability and reduce defects. Track and report key quality metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvement actions. Ensure proper training and competency of quality personnel and support cross-functional training efforts. Support supplier quality activities, including issue resolution and performance monitoring. Review and approve nonconforming material dispositions and ensure proper documentation. Lead communication of quality expectations, standards, and performance across the organization. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within quality systems.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
As assigned by the Director of QualityKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field (or equivalent experience) Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 preferred) Experience in manufacturing environment Proficiency in MS Office and quality-related systems Strong problem-solving skills (root cause analysis, corrective actions) Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications Leadership and team management experience Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Data analysis and reporting capabilityBENEFITS
