Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Quality Lab Manager to oversee manufacturing quality processes within our cosmetics production facility. This is a manager role with oversight over 3-5 technicians. This pivotal role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest quality standards in every product we produce. The ideal candidate will lead quality initiatives, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive continuous improvement to uphold our reputation for excellence. Duties Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management systems aligned with
ISO 9001, ISO
13485, GMP, and other relevant standards Lead quality audits across manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with
HACCP, FDA
regulations, and legal standards Oversee quality control inspections during production to verify adherence to quality standards in cosmetics manufacturing Facilitate root cause analysis using Six Sigma methodologies to resolve quality issues efficiently Conduct training sessions on regulatory compliance, GMP practices, and quality systems for production staff Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, and regulatory affairs to ensure product safety and quality assurance Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality metrics and implement corrective actions as needed Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including analytical or quality-control testing and approvals. Lead, train, schedule, and evaluate laboratory analysts, technicians, and other staff. Ensure testing is performed according to GMP, GLP, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements. Review and approve laboratory data, test results, COA's, reports, protocols, and documentation. Maintain laboratory readiness for regulatory inspections and internal/external audits. Investigate OOS (Out-of-Specification), OOT (Out-of-Trend), deviations, CAPAs, and laboratory incidents. Oversee qualification, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. Develop and maintain laboratory SOPs, methods, specifications, and controlled documents. Support method development, validation, verification, and transfer activities as applicable. Monitor laboratory performance, turnaround times, quality metrics, and productivity. Manage laboratory budgets, supplies, reagents, inventory, and vendor relationships. Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments. Promote laboratory safety, data integrity, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with FDA, USP, ICH, and other applicable standards and regulations. Skills Extensive knowledge of
HACCP, CGMP, ISO 9001, ISO
13485, and FDA regulations relevant to cosmetics manufacturing Proven experience conducting quality audits and implementing quality systems in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of regulatory/legal compliance standards in the cosmetics industry Expertise in Six Sigma manufacturing principles and Lean management techniques for process optimization Proficiency in quality inspection tools such as GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and QA/QC analysis skills Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively and foster cross-functional communication Excellent analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives Join us to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in cosmetics manufacturing.
