Quality Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the quality control and quality assurance teams, ensuring that all products manufactured in the facility meet the company's stringent quality and safety standards. Reporting directly to the FSQA Manager, the Quality Supervisor ensures that the facility maintains compliance with regulatory requirements and internal food safety programs. The role requires close collaboration with production and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent product quality and the continuous improvement of processes.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership :

o Supervise and provide guidance to quality technicians and other quality personnel, ensuring proper execution of their duties. o Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the development and training of quality staff. o Schedule and manage quality team workloads to ensure production lines are properly monitored. o

Quality Control Oversight:

Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards by overseeing inspections, product sampling, and testing. o Review quality reports, analyze data trends, and report on production quality issues to the FSQA Manager. o Manage daily quality checks on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

Compliance & Auditing :

o Assist the FSQA Manager in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA) and certification programs (BRC, SQF). o Lead internal audits and support third-party audits, ensuring the facility is audit-ready at all times. o Ensure adherence to HACCP, GMPs, and all relevant food safety programs across the production floor.

Process Improvement :

o Identify areas for improvement in quality processes and collaborate with the FSQA Manager and production teams to implement corrective actions. o Lead root cause analysis for quality deviations and work with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). o Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of quality procedures.

Documentation & Reporting :

o Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation of quality control activities, including non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and inspection logs. o Prepare and submit quality performance reports, highlighting trends, issues, and recommended solutions to the FSQA Manager.

Training & Support :

o Train production and quality personnel on food safety and quality procedures, including HACCP, allergen controls, and sanitation standards. o Work closely with production supervisors to ensure quality expectations are understood and adhered to on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Quality Assurance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a quality assurance role in food manufacturing, with 1+ year in a supervisory position preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, GFSI, and related certification standards (BRC, SQF).
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing and developing a team.
• Proficient in MS Office and quality management software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Pay:

$58,240.00 - $74,880.00 per year
