Manage the product control and inspection activities for AM General's manufacturing and aftermarket facilities to ensure final vehicle acceptance and DD250 sales and pre-shipment acceptance are completed Manage a team of hourly and salary quality inspection and verification personnel Develop quality control policies, procedures and inspection plans consistent with contractual requirements Executes product quality performance metrics, audit findings and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement Assure quality procedures, processes, Completed Vehicle Inspection Standard (CVIS) are being followed Works directly with DCMA and direct customers to achieve truck sales and performs FIR audit with government Partners with manufacturing, engineering and supplier quality teams to resolve complex quality issues, containment and reduction of defectsKNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience ASQ Certification is preferred Must have minimum 5+ years of quality or engineering experience Must have experience in supervising other salaried personnel Strong quality background with knowledge in welding, riveting, assembly processes, torque, SPC, and quality procedures is necessary Leadership ability required with strong communication skills to interact between all organizational levels and the customer Product knowledge of the military HMMWV preferredPHYSICAL EFFORT
