The Training & Quality Assurace Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, facilitating, and evaluating training programs for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) working in residential settings. In addition to overseeing staff development, this role ensures ongoing quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and service excellence across residential programs. This position ensures that all DSPs receive the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality, person-centered care while meeting all state licensing, agency, and accreditation requirements. The Training & QA Coordinator promotes a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and quality improvement that supports the agency's mission to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Develop, implement, and deliver new hire orientation and ongoing training programs for DSPs working in group homes and residential services. Conduct family hands-on and classroom training in areas such as: Person-centered support and documentation Health and safety procedures Behavioral support and crisis intervention Infection control and emergency preparedness Mandated reporting and abuse prevention Coordinate CPR/First Aid, Safety Care, and other required certifications. Ensure all training content reflects current best practices, agency standards, and regulatory requirements. Develop training materials, presentations, competency assessments, and resource guides. Conduct routine quality assurance reviews of residential programs, including: Documentation audits (ISP implementation, progress notes, incident reports) Health and safety compliance checks Regulatory compliance monitoring Maintain accurate training records for all residential staff, ensuring compliance with state regulations (e.g., Department of Developmental Services or equivalent). Monitor and track expiration dates for mandatory certifications and schedule recertifications as needed. Identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement through data analysis and internal audits. Prepare documentation and reports for internal audits, licensing inspections, and accreditation reviews. Collaborate with leadership to develop corrective action plans when compliance concerns are identified. Work closely with Residential Managers and Senior Team to identify staff training needs and performance improvement opportunities. Support onboarding and mentorship programs for new DSPs to ensure smooth integration into residential teams. Lead all QA and compliance efforts across programs. Conduct audits of members' binders and documentation systems (Therap, Evergreen, etc.). Ensure compliance with Section 21, OADS, and licensing requirements. Identify risks and implement corrective action plans (POCs). Support and prepare programs for State inspections, including fire Marshal inspections, and licensing reviews. Develop, review, and update agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the new regulations. Provide guidance and accountability to House Managers and leadership staff. Attend weekly Senior Team meeting (in-office, Saco, ME). Conduct weekly visits to residential settings to monitor compliance and operations. Attend House Managers and Monthly House meeting. Monday through Friday In-office weekly (Saco, ME). Weekly travel to residential programs required. $60,000 - 70,000, based on level of experience. Bachelor's degree in Quality Management or a related field; advanced certifications in QA/QC are a plus. Ability to work independently and enforce accountability Exceptional communication skills for training teams and collaborating across departments.
