Job Description:
Our client in Macomb County is looking for a hands-on Quality Manager to make a real impact. This opportunity offers the chance to take ownership of quality systems, lead a team, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing setting. What's in it for you: Direct hire opportunity with a well-established, growing manufacturing company Competitive salary based on experience Full benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and PTO Opportunity to lead and build out quality systems and processes High-visibility role with direct impact on operations and customer satisfaction Collaborative team environment with strong leadership support What your day will look like: Lead and manage all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) Oversee quality assurance and quality control processes across production Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures Manage internal and external audits (ISO and customer-specific) Drive continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Root Cause Analysis, 8D, and corrective actions Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement solutions to reduce defects and improve performance Collaborate with engineering, production, and leadership teams to resolve quality issues Supervise and mentor quality team members including inspectors and technicians Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions Interface with customers regarding quality concerns, audits, and corrective actions What we are looking for: 5+ years of experience in a Quality leadership role within manufacturing Strong knowledge of quality systems such as
ISO 9001
(IATF 16949 experience is a plus) Experience with core quality tools: SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, Root Cause Analysis Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Experience leading audits and working directly with customers on quality issues Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred At Apex, we actively encourage applications from underrepresented groups.
