Quality Manager - Food Manufacturing Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Quality Manager to oversee and enhance the quality and safety standards of our food manufacturing processes. This role is integral to ensuring our products meet regulatory, customer, and industry standards. Responsibilities Implement, execute, and promote food safety through Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security Measures, Housekeeping, and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP). Ensure compliance with FDA cGMP (21CFR Part 110), EXCiPACT, and BRC standards. Direct quality program planning and coordination to meet customer specifications. Manage laboratory operations, supporting the QA/QC Supervisor in planning and scheduling. Provide developmental and annual training to the quality team in quality techniques and tools. Ensure a safe working environment for all quality employees. Communicate facility quality performance to management, operations, and warehouse staff. Coordinate and conduct development, maintenance, and validation of test methods. Assist with the development, update, and maintenance of product specifications. Support engineering and technology teams in new product developments and process improvements. Maintain Lab QMS System (LX-400) databases. Research, propose, purchase, and set up new instrumentation within budgeted costs and timeframes. Propose, write, and review quality control Standard Operating Procedures. Perform statistical analysis of test results for internal trending. Provide backup support for QA and QC Coordinators and Chemical Analysts as needed. Collaborate on projects related to cost savings, quality improvement, and production efficiencies using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Work with plant leadership and other departments to ensure project outcomes meet quality standards. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field. 5 years of experience in quality and/or regulatory leadership in a food manufacturing setting. Proficiency with food safety/quality programs such as HACCP, GMPs, SPC, and
ISO 9001.
Expertise in Quality Assurance, Chemistry, and Six Sigma methodologies. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience managing a team, including Quality Supervisors, QA coordinators, and QC techs. Strong time management skills. Ability to focus on testing methods that provide the most value. Desire to build and support the quality department. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. 3 weeks of PTO and bonus opportunity.
