Quality Supervisor Job Description The Quality Supervisor oversees day-to-day quality control operations, leads inspection teams, and ensures that all products and processes consistently meet safety, regulatory, and internal quality standards. This role combines hands-on floor oversight with auditing, problem solving, and performance reporting to drive continuous improvement across production activities. Responsibilities Lead and supervise the quality inspection team by assigning daily tasks, scheduling inspectors, and providing training on company procedures and quality standards. Monitor production lines and inspection activities on the floor to verify results, identify product defects, and detect process variations at an early stage. Conduct regular departmental audits to assess adherence to quality procedures and ensure compliance with relevant industry frameworks such as ISO 9001 or HACCP. Coordinate containment activities when defects or nonconformances arise, working quickly to isolate affected products and minimize impact on operations. Lead root-cause investigations to understand underlying issues, and develop, implement, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Document performance data, including time and quality metrics, and accurately enter information into automated systems and quality management tools. Prepare and deliver clear reports on quality performance and program effectiveness to leadership and other stakeholders. Maintain organized records of audits, inspections, training, and corrective actions to support traceability and continuous improvement. Collaborate with production and other departments to promote a culture of quality and ensure that quality standards are integrated into daily operations. Essential Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain defect criteria, coach team members, and provide clear updates to stakeholders. Demonstrated technical knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), measurement tools, and applicable industry regulations. Proven ability to organize and balance staffing needs, manage shift coverage, and maintain meticulous and accurate records. Hands-on experience in quality assurance, quality control, inspection, and supervision within a production or operations environment. Previous supervisor experience with responsibility for leading and developing a team of quality or inspection personnel. Education typically including a high school diploma with extensive industry experience, or a bachelors degree in a technical or quality-assurance related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working within structured quality frameworks such as ISO 9001 or HACCP. Familiarity with automated systems for logging quality metrics and performance data. Ability to lead structured root-cause analysis and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Demonstrated experience working in a technical, manufacturing, or quality-assurance discipline that supports practical understanding of production processes. Strong coaching and training capabilities to help team members understand and apply quality standards consistently. Work Environment This role operates primarily in a production and inspection environment, with frequent presence on the shop floor to oversee lines, verify inspection results, and respond quickly to quality issues. The Quality Supervisor works with automated systems and measurement tools to capture and analyze performance data and collaborates closely with operations, production, and leadership teams. The work schedule typically follows established shifts, and the supervisor is responsible for coordinating coverage to ensure continuous quality oversight. Attire is generally aligned with standard production and safety practices, which may include appropriate workwear and any required protective equipment depending on the facilitys policies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Grandview, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
