Avon Protection is recognized as a world leader in ballistic protection and respiratory, delivering life critical solutions for Militaries and First Responders worldwide. We are searching for a driven, detail-orientated Quality Manger to join our Quality team. The person hired for the position of Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing and improving the Quality Management System for the Salem, NH site and the Team Wendy Ceradyne company. This person will enable and report out of key quality metrics and drive continuous improvement and defect reduction throughout the plant. This person will also support new products being designed and launched. This person will ensure compliance to and improve compliance of customer configuration in the defense field. This person will lead and assist in complex data analytics and defect and risk reduction using industry standard methodologies (FMEA, 5Why, 8D, etc). This person will have direct reporting responsibility for the quality engineers and quality supervisor. Essential duties and/orFunctions:

- Manage and improve the current
ISO 9001
2015 certification- Monitor, improve and improve reporting of key quality metrics
- Manage supplier and customer relationships
- Develop internal quality team to industry standards
- Comply with and improve compliance with customer configuration requirements
- Lead and train to risk management techniques (FMEA, 5Why, 8D, etc)
- Maintain and organize company documents, records and files in electronic and/or physical systems
- Assists in development of improved procedures for the quality management system
- Demonstrate a level of knowledge required to make decisions and adjustments when required.
- Actively participates in Lean processes or projects (standard work reviews, Tier 1 meeting, Kaizen events)
- Proactively initiates personal learning in additional work areas, processes and Lean manufacturing practices This position [will/may] require:
- Weekend work
- Working overtime
- Working on holidays as needed
- Short notice shift coverage
Required Minimum Qualifications:
(Minimum/Basic level of qualifications needed to perform the essential functions of the position, i.e. education, licensure or any measurable and job-related experience)Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of [7-10] years of progressive experience of quality within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum [3-5] years of experience serving as the primary owner or administrator of an
ISO 9001
2015 certified Quality Management System- Experience leading internal audits, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, and management review activities.
- Proven experience leading continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrated experience analyzing complex manufacturing and quality data to identify trends and drive decision-making
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data visualization.
- Experience with ERP, MES, QMS, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Minitab, or similar analytical software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and executive publications.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences:
(Characteristics/Skills/Experiences that are not required but are preferred)- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
- Experience in highly regulated manufacturing (medical device, aerospace, defense, electronics, automotive, etc)
- Experience implementing or significantly improving a Quality Management System.
- Experience automating quality metrics and dashboards using Power BI or similar visualization tools.
- Working knowledge of risk management methodologies and process validation.
