FT, Exempt Position Summary The Quality Assurance (QA) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance activities within a food manufacturing environment, ensuring all products are produced in compliance with company specifications, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards. This position provides leadership to QA Technicians, verifies quality monitoring activities, supports food safety programs, and helps maintain compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and SQF standards. The QA Supervisor serves as a hands-on leader and works closely with Production, Sanitation, and Operations teams to ensure the highest standards of food safety and product quality are achieved. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Train, coach, and manage QA Technicians on quality assurance policies, procedures, and food safety requirements. Verify and oversee QA Technicians' pre-operational and operational monitoring activities. Monitor and verify compliance with GMPs, food safety programs, SSOPs, HACCP plans, and sanitation procedures. Ensure all monitoring and measuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Oversee incoming raw materials and packaging inspections to ensure materials meet established specifications. Monitor the hold and release program to ensure non-conforming products are appropriately identified, controlled, and dispositioned. Verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure products meet established specifications and customer requirements. Conduct routine plant inspections and audits to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. Assist in investigations of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions as needed. Maintain accurate quality records and documentation in accordance with regulatory and company requirements. Partner with Production, Sanitation, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required. Promote a strong food safety culture throughout the facility. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of quality assurance experience in a food or meat manufacturing environment. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred. Experience working in USDA-regulated food manufacturing environments preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities HACCP Certification required or ability to obtain certification. Strong knowledge of food safety programs, GMPs, HACCP, SSOPs, sanitation verification, and regulatory compliance requirements. Understanding of food manufacturing and quality control processes. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to effectively train, coach, and develop team members. Working Conditions Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to cold and refrigerated production areas. Frequent walking, standing, bending, and climbing throughout the facility. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require. Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in cold, wet, and refrigerated environments. Ability to perform visual inspections and complete detailed documentation. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
