Training Full Job Description Overview:
The Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Coordinator works in cooperation with the Medical Director, Vice President of Administration, EMS Training Officer (EMSTO) or Designee, Vice President of Operations, and Field Supervisor(s), to use an organized method of auditing and evaluating care provided within the Community Ambulance EMS system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review ePCR's to ensure proper documentation and provide feedback to field personnel. Evaluates clinical care delivered to determine adherence to jurisdictional protocols. Utilizes company and state reporting programs to evaluate clinical and documentation standards. Provides verbal and written feedback to operations personnel, related to their clinical and documentation practices. Define and verify the process to be improved Collect and analyze data to establish baselines, identify trends and root causes and point toward possible solution. Use measurable clinical indicators that are regularly assessed for compliance with established thresholds. Based on data, aid Medical Director and EMSTO or Designee in developing action plans for improvement, including implementation, communication, and measuring and monitoring clinical performance to assure excellence in all operational areas. Aid in implementing the action plans as well as an ongoing measuring/monitoring (process control) system to ensure success. Develops audit tools to evaluate clinical performance and documentation. Works with the EMSTO or Designee to provide remedial training on an individual and/or company-wide basis. Provides recommendations to the Medical Director and EMSTO or Designee, relative to improving clinical and documentation practices, as well as the electronic patient care reporting program. Measure and report the effectiveness of its Clinical Performance Improvement initiatives to management at a minimum of monthly. Areas of the program determined to be in need of improvement will be identified, changed, reassessed, and reported on. Works with the VP-Ops and EMSTO or Designee to assure CAAS and HIPPA Compliance. Maintain a minimum of one Operations shift every two months. Date and time of shift to be coordinated by Clinical Director or appointee.
