This role is focused specifically on Quality Assurance leadership and will oversee a small, high-impact team while driving compliance, continuous improvement, and customer quality initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you'll play a key role in strengthening quality systems, leading audits, and ensuring alignment with AS9100 and aerospace standards . Team Structure You will directly manage: 3 Quality Engineers 1 Quality Technician Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Quality Assurance team Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean / Six Sigma methodologies Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO, and aerospace standards Serve as the primary point of contact for customer audits and quality issues Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, DMAIC, etc.) Oversee quality planning activities including APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, and process capability Review and interpret customer specifications, blueprints, and GD&T Collaborate with operations, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues Track and report quality metrics and KPIs Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field + 5+ years of quality experience , OR 15+ years of quality experience in manufacturing Experience in aerospace manufacturing (strongly preferred) Strong knowledge of AS9100 and quality systems (QMS) Proven leadership experience managing quality teams Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T Experience with APQP, FMEA, 8D, MSA, and process capability tools Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Minitab Preferred Qualifications Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent) Experience with NADCAP or aerospace audits Familiarity with self-release programs (DSQR, DQCR, etc.) Additional Requirements Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Person status required) Ability to pass FAA drug testing and compliance requirements Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (PPE required) Occasional travel may be required
