Job Description

Black Bear Talent is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager for our client in Woodburn, Oregon. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this key leadership role will oversee all aspects of quality at the facility, partnering with production and key Account QC teams to ensure products meet corporate and customer standards and specifications. The Quality Control Manager will oversee in-process and customer audits, evaluate garment performance, drive continuous improvement, and use statistical process control to strengthen manufacturing processes and product quality. This role will champion a quality-first mindset across the facility while leading initiatives that reduce defects and support consistent, high-quality production.
Hours:
Monday- Thursday (off Friday, Saturday and Sunday) Shift 5:00am-3:30pm
Note:
This is not a remote position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform final inspections on products to ensure established quality standards and specifications are met. Review and sign off on PD samples. Plan, develop, and implement quality policies and establish objectives for all quality functions in accordance with organizational objectives. Understand customer needs and requirements and work closely with Product Development and Production teams to develop, implement, and enforce effective quality processes. Provide direction to ensure products are executed consistently with the customer's vision and requirements, with a strong focus on product quality and on-time shipments. Lead Quality team members in collecting, managing, and understanding quality data to identify trends, take action, and make informed decisions that improve overall quality performance. Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis efforts to identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions in partnership with the Production team. Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and incorporated throughout the manufacturing process. Monitor production and quality processes to identify potential issues before they impact finished product quality or customer requirements. Establish and maintain quality standards and procedures throughout the production process. Share quality metrics and scorecards with peers and the leadership team to track quality performance for each process and identify areas requiring improvement. Analyze quality performance data and communicate findings, trends, concerns, and recommended actions to the leadership team. Recruit, hire, train, coach, and lead Quality team members. Provide ongoing direction, feedback, and development to Quality team members to support departmental and organizational objectives. Lead employee performance reviews and develop team members for future growth and promotional opportunities. Partner with the leadership team on quality analysis, performance, and improvement initiatives. Collaborate with Production and other departments to ensure quality expectations are maintained while supporting production schedules and on-time delivery requirements. Develop, test, and implement new quality initiatives designed to increase efficiency and improve the timeliness of order processing and production as part of continuous improvement efforts. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating existing quality processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing effective solutions. Lead the key account certification process , ensuring applicable requirements, standards, and expectations are met. Maintain a strong focus on garment performance and product acceptability throughout the quality review and auditing process. Promote accountability for quality across departments and champion a quality-first mindset throughout the facility. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proven experience managing people and processes, preferably within a Quality function. 5-8 years of experience working in a quality role, preferably within the apparel manufacturing industry. Experience working within a matrixed organizational structure. Ability to read and write in English. Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving and creative-thinking skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis. High level of dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation. Ability to maintain focus on product quality in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications. Keen attention to detail with the ability to evaluate and determine product acceptability. Strong analytical and computer skills. Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent. Ability to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen Physical, Cognitive, Safety and Environmental Demands Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions as required by the position. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to focus, reason, and respond effectively to workplace demands. Ability to work extended hours as business needs require. Ability to work in a hot production environment, particularly during summer months. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
