EAST STROUDSBURG, PA
Job Type Full-time Description This position is responsible for the daily oversight of the Lab, all analytical chemistry in the quality department, inspection and testing, and the development of Laboratory staff. Will work with raw material and finished product physical and analytical chemistry testing. Supervise technical QA Laboratory staff in carrying out raw material and production bulk tests/checks. This includes assuring adherence to GMP, training, and to ensure tests and procedures are properly understood. Will use various laboratory equipment: FT-IR, Rheometers, etc. Will work with formulation of new products. Assist with training chemist and lab technician, as required. Work with Production/Batching to trouble shoot any quality issues related to, batches or batching. Supervisor must be able to communicate directly in person or through email or other electronic media with different departments to assess possible solutions and make informed decisions. Lead investigations for minor/major deviations including items originating from Batching, Production, Quality Control, etc. Gather data from various sources across the site, perform Root Cause Analysis to determine the most likely cause of the deviation, assess event for product/process impact, and identify Corrective and Preventative Actions to reduce or eliminate deviation recurrence. Provide written documented investigations in an appropriate and timely manner. Participate in deviation Review Board. Provide technical experience and judgment as called upon during investigations and daily interpretation of data and results. Requirements B.S. degree in a scientific discipline (i.e., Chemistry, Biology or related). Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing industry. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. To perform this position, the employee is not required to have any form of certification and/or valid license. To perform this position, the employee must be able to read and write English, and perform mathematical calculations.
