Pile Installation Mechanical Installation Module Installation Position Summary The Quality Control Manager / QC Technician is responsible for overseeing and verifying quality throughout utility-scale solar construction activities. This position ensures that pile installation, mechanical tracker installation, and PV module installation are completed according to project drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements, approved procedures, and company quality standards. The QC Manager / Technician will work closely with the Construction Manager, Superintendents, Foremen, Safety team, engineering, and project management to identify deficiencies, document corrective actions, and maintain accurate quality records throughout the project. Key Responsibilities Pile Installation QC

• Inspect pile installation activities for compliance with project specifications and approved drawings.
• Verify pile location, spacing, alignment, embedment depth, height, and orientation.
• Perform and document pile installation inspections and required testing.
• Monitor pile refusals, damaged piles, overdrives, underdrives, and remediation activities.
• Verify pile installation data and maintain accurate production/QC records.
• Review pile installation reports and identify quality trends or recurring issues.
• Coordinate pile remediation and corrective actions with field supervision and engineering.
• Ensure all required inspections are completed before releasing work to the next phase.

Mechanical / Tracker

QC

• Inspect tracker components, torque tubes, bearings, dampers, brackets, clamps, fasteners, and associated hardware.
• Verify mechanical installation against approved drawings and manufacturer requirements.
• Inspect tracker alignment, rotation, elevation, component orientation, and hardware installation.
• Verify bolt and fastener torque requirements where applicable.
• Identify missing, damaged, incorrectly installed, or improperly torqued components.
• Perform QC inspections during mechanical installation and document deficiencies.
• Work with Foremen and Superintendents to correct issues before module installation. Module Installation QC
• Inspect PV modules for cracks, damage, frame defects, broken glass, and other deficiencies.
• Verify module placement, orientation, alignment, and installation sequence.
• Inspect module clamps, fasteners, and mounting hardware.
• Verify proper module attachment and torque requirements.
• Inspect module wiring, connectors, cable management, and wire routing.
• Identify and document damaged modules and installation defects.
• Verify completed module rows/sections before turnover to the next construction activity. Documentation & Reporting
• Complete daily QC inspection reports.
• Maintain inspection checklists, deficiency reports, punch lists, and corrective-action documentation.
• Maintain accurate records by block, section, row, and work activity.
• Collect and verify installation data from field crews.
• Maintain photo documentation of quality issues and completed corrective actions.
• Assist with turnover packages and project closeout documentation.
• Ensure QC documentation is completed accurately and submitted on schedule.
• Track open deficiencies through final resolution. Quality Assurance
• Conduct routine field inspections and audits.
• Perform first-installation and follow-up inspections.
• Verify work against IFC drawings, specifications, approved submittals, and manufacturer requirements.
• Identify trends and communicate recurring quality issues to project management.
• Stop or hold work when significant quality deficiencies are identified.
• Participate in daily coordination meetings and quality meetings.
• Assist with developing and improving QC procedures and inspection checklists. Qualifications
• 3+ years of solar construction QC experience preferred.
• Utility-scale solar construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with pile installation, tracker/mechanical installation, and PV module installation.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and installation manuals.
• Knowledge of solar construction sequencing and field installation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to identify installation deficiencies and communicate corrective actions.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital inspection/reporting systems.
• Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions and on active construction sites.
• Ability to travel and work extended project schedules as required. Preferred Certifications
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Solar construction QC/QC certification preferred
• Nextracker, Array Technologies, or other tracker-system training preferred
• Manufacturer-specific installation training
• Qualified inspection/testing certifications as required by the project Physical Requirements
• Ability to walk extensive distances across large solar construction sites.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work around installed solar equipment.
• Ability to inspect work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
• Ability to use tablets, measuring equipment, torque verification tools, and other QC equipment.

Performance Expectations The QC Manager / Technician is expected to maintain a quality-first approach, identify problems before they become rework, and ensure that completed work meets project requirements the first time.

Primary Goal:

Reduce rework, prevent installation defects, maintain accurate QC documentation, and ensure the completed solar facility meets project specifications and client quality requirements.

Pay:

From $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 50.0 per week
