Quality Assurance Manager UCL Carrollton, TX Job Details Permanent | Full-time 11 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Calibration Engineering Manufacturing facility experience Quality audits Certified Quality Engineer Customer complaint resolution Full Job Description QC Manager - Fiber Optic Manufacturing UCL Connections is seeking an experienced QC Manager to lead quality control operations across our Texas manufacturing facilities in Crosby and Commander. This role oversees incoming, in-process, and outgoing inspection for fiber optic cables, connectors, pre-connectorized assemblies, and SOC products.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise QC inspectors and technicians across multiple facilities and shifts. Manage inspection plans, AQL sampling, testing, calibration, and quality documentation. Ensure products meet Telcordia, IEC, ASTM/FOTP, and internal quality standards . Investigate defects and customer complaints and lead root cause/CAPA activities. Manage non-conforming material disposition and maintain product traceability. Track and report key quality metrics, including yield, defect rates, and customer returns. Support NPI, audits, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of manufacturing quality experience , with 2+ years in a QC supervisory/management role . Hands-on experience with fiber optic cable and/or connector manufacturing QC is required. Strong knowledge of OTDR, optical testing, dimensional/mechanical testing, and quality inspection methods. Familiarity with Telcordia
GR-20, GR-3120, GR-326, IEC 60811, ANSI/ASQ
Z1.4, and
ISO 9001
. Proven people-management, problem-solving, and communication skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
Preferred:
Six Sigma/Lean, ASQ CQE/CQM certification, and experience with facility start-ups or Telcordia reliability testing.
