Job Description
Job Summary:
The Multisite Quality Manager oversees quality assurance and control across multiple manufacturing sites. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to quality standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of quality excellence across all locations.Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality management strategies and systems across multiple manufacturing sites to ensure consistency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Establish and maintain standardized quality processes, procedures, and metrics to monitor and improve performance. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess quality control processes and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with site managers and production teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Lead cross-functional teams to investigate root causes of quality failures and implement preventive measures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes. Provide leadership and guidance to site quality teams, ensuring alignment with corporate quality objectives and standards. Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities. Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality management. Lead efforts and/or assist R D and purchasing in the validation of new or alternate raw materials. Lead and/or assist with plant trials for RM validation, process improvement, and NPD. Learn and understand the composition of a fully costed Bills of Materials for manufactured goods. Act as a liaison between Operations and R D helping information flow in both directions and fostering a cooperative relationship. Collaborate with Project Engineers in the Engineering Department for process improvement and large capital projects related to your processes. Works closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues, implement quality improvements, and support new product introductions.Computer Skills:
Highly proficient in MS Office suites; detailed experience and keen understanding of social media communications and measurement tools. Knowledge of quality related software such as Minitab, SQCpack, and CAD are desirable.Initiative and Self Reliance:
Is able to receive general directional guidance from their manager and work independently to turn that guidance into actions that drive their group of plants towards the company's goals.Analytical Mindset and Technical Competence:
Has the ability to interpret data, identify trends, understand technical standards and basic drawings and schematics. Exact industry experience is preferred but rare. A successful candidate will have the ability to learn, apply, and teach technical concepts.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, a manufacturing discipline such as engineering, chemistry, material science, a technical field, or business administration. Three (3) years of experience in QA systems implementation and management or in a QA related position of responsibility in a medium-size manufacturing environment. Multisite or multiple manufacturing line experience a plus. At least five (5) years of experience in manufacturing. Process improvement experience, with a proven track record of business performance improvement. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, quality control methodologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, ASTM, standards). Certification(s) in a quality management discipline such as Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, ASQ a plus. Experience in building product/HVAC manufacturing a plus.Work Environment:
In addition to the standard office environment, this position involves occasional work at manufacturing facilities and job sites typical of the construction trade. Moderate amounts of travel (25%) to Company facilities and other locations in the United States and Canada may also be required. Initial few months of employment may have increased amounts of travel to execute training and visit manufacturing sites to acquire organizational knowledge and establish relationships.
