Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to oversee all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, customer specifications, and industry standards. This position will lead QA/QC activities, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS). Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, BRC, ISO, and applicable industry standards. Lead and manage the QA/QC team. Plan, coordinate, and support internal, external, supplier, and customer audits. Drive continuous improvement and performance improvement initiatives. Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to specifications. Analyze quality data, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate closely with production and other departments to resolve quality issues. Maintain quality documentation and records. Support supplier and customer quality requirements and occasional site visits. Utilize Microsoft Office and quality management software to track and manage quality activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field ; Master's preferred. 5+ years of quality management experience in food packaging, food manufacturing, or a related industry. Strong knowledge of BRC and ISO standards . Experience with food safety and quality management systems . Proven experience leading teams and managing audits. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software such as Q-Pulse, EtQ, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with absorption pad production, nonwoven materials, or similar packaging technologies . HACCP certification. PCQI certification. Six Sigma certification or experience. Experience driving performance improvement initiatives.
Work Environment:
Full-time, on-site position in Rocky Mount, VA . Primarily office-based with frequent interaction on the production floor. Occasional travel for supplier/customer visits and training.
