This opportunity as a Quality Control Manager offers the chance to lead quality operations across casting, machining, heat treat, and finishing processes while driving improvements in inspection, compliance, corrective actions, and customer quality. Summary:
The Quality Control Manager will oversee inspection, testing, corrective actions, internal audits, supplier quality, and customer quality activities within a manufacturing and foundry environment. This role requires a hands-on, data-driven quality leader with aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing experience who can lead teams, interact with customers and auditors, and drive measurable quality improvements. As a Quality Control Manager, you will:
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Ensure proper use of inspection equipment including CMMs, gauges, hardness testers, and related measurement equipment.
  • Monitor and improve SPC, process capability, and defect reduction.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions utilizing 8D and 5-Why methodologies.
  • Review and approve NCRs, MRB dispositions, and customer returns.
  • Ensure timely and effective closure of corrective actions.
  • Plan and conduct internal quality audits.
  • Serve as the primary quality interface for customer audits, registrar audits, and Nadcap audits when applicable.
  • Coordinate audit responses and follow-up actions.
  • Oversee supplier quality requirements and performance.
  • Review supplier corrective actions and conduct supplier audits as needed.
  • Act as the primary quality contact for customers.
  • Support contract reviews, PPAP/FAI submissions, and customer quality issues.
  • Participate in customer meetings and technical reviews.
  • Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and sales.
  • Maintain a hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of quality leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace and/or automotive manufacturing experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and/or
IATF 16949.
  • Experience with inspection methods and GD&T.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action systems, including 8D and RCCA.
  • Experience managing audits and interacting with customers and registrars.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with aluminum casting, machining, or heat-treat operations.
  • Experience with PPAP, FAI/AS9102, SPC, and MSA.
  • Familiarity with ERP and quality data systems.
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and sales.
Education:
  • Relevant education or technical training in quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline preferred.
