Job Description
The Simplot Company is a diverse, privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise, Idaho. Summary The QA Coordinator coordinates the daily shift operations of the quality department. The QA Coordinator will assist in facilitating the completion of quality assurance activities for all laboratory operations. QA Coordinator demonstrates and maintains the integrity of the quality assurance process.
Key Responsibilities Assists in assigning daily work assignments to crew. Trains and audits QA Auditors on a specific shift. Makes recommendations for quality disposition based on inspection results. Ensures the accuracy of calculations and documentation of daily work. Utilizes the inventory system (DCS) in daily work activities. Performs requested tests and samples. Prepares daily cutting for management review. Performs calibrations and other equipment monitoring as required. Audits Food Safety program through monitoring positive release. Provides prompt and timely feedback to appropriate personnel relative to production related problems (i.e. excessive defects, mislabeling, package quality issues, etc). Typical Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Relevant Experience 1+ years related experience and/or training Other Information Preferred two years plus experience in a processing environment. Combination of education, training and/or experience will be considered for this position. Uses basic lab equipment. Proficient in product grading methods. Good knowledge of computer systems. Understands company policies and procedures related to lab methodology. Good communication skills. Needs to be organized, efficient, and have good time management skills. Ability to sit and stand for long periods. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Adheres to all standards, policies and systems as appropriate.
