Job Title:
Quality Supervisor Job Description Join our team as a Quality Supervisor at our Sauk City location, specializing in animal feed products. This role involves providing oversight and leadership to a dedicated team, ensuring compliance with 21 CFR Part 507 regulations for animal nutritional products. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining quality systems and improving standard operating procedures (SOPs) while supporting the overall quality function. Responsibilities Provide oversight and leadership of the Quality function, including Quality Assurance and Quality Control laboratory activities. Supervise and develop direct reports, ensuring appropriate training, performance management, and accountability. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including 21 CFR Part 507 Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of the site Food Safety Plans and lead or support Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) responsibilities. Lead or participate in hazard analysis activities, food safety activities, and ensure appropriate preventive controls are implemented. Provide oversight of laboratory operations including sampling, testing, specifications, data review, equipment calibration, and product disposition decisions. Review and approve quality documentation including procedures, specifications, laboratory methods and forms, master batch reports, and Certificates of Analysis. Ensure appropriate control and disposition of nonconforming materials and finished products, including investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Coordinate and manage client and regulatory inspections, including FDA and state feed regulatory audits, and lead drafting responses to findings. Develop, monitor, and report quality system metrics. Ensure labeling compliance with FDA and applicable state feed laws. Support food safety programs, including recordkeeping, internal audits, regulatory documentation, and maintaining document control systems. Follow all company quality and safety policies and procedures. Essential Skills 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance and/or quality control. 2-5 years of supervisory experience. B.S. in Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.) preferred. Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements for animal nutritional products. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in animal feed, animal health, or animal food is a plus. PCQI certification or willingness to obtain certification preferred. Open to candidates without a degree if they have 10-15 years of quality experience in a food manufacturing facility. Knowledge of FDA and state feed regulations. Work Environment This position operates on a first shift, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with no remote opportunities. The work setting includes office, production, and laboratory environments. The facility has 31 employees, and this role involves managing 2 direct reports from the lab. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the VP of Quality and other team members. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Sauk City, WI.
