Job Description
Job Overview:
A leading Automotive Manufacturer based in Athens, Alabama is seeking a skilled Accounting Administrator to support and strengthen daily accounting operations. This position is ideal for a motivated professional looking to build on their accounting experience while gaining exposure to a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role offers meaningful opportunities for growth, hands-on involvement in core financial processes, and the ability to contribute to a team focused on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.Essential Job Functions Quality System Management and Standardization:
- Establish and standardize corporate frameworks for data collection, reporting, change point management, and internal defect mitigation in compliance with automotive industry standards.
- Maintain and update rigorous quality records, audit findings, work instructions, and procedural documentation to support plant operations.
- Guide and assist subsidiary plants in achieving, maintaining, and upgrading certifications to required industry standards.
Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions:
- Support comprehensive investigations into customer complaints, warranty claims and internal quality anomalies
- Drive Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) initiatives to eliminate root causes, safeguard product integrity and optimize operational processes
- Build and manage data collection systems to report on Quality KPI's, proactively identifying recurring defect trends and continuous improvement opportunities.
Auditing and Compliance Readiness:
- Lead internal quality audits across support sites and manufacturing facilities Cross-Functional Leadership and Safety
- Partner with engineering, production, and leadership to swiftly resolve quality concerns.
- Strict adherence to and promotion of company safety, information security, quality and confidentiality protocols.
Working Conditions:
- This position is full-time
Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8am-5pm or 8:30am - 5:30pm Qualifications and Experience Education and Skills- Associate's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Management or a related field is required (Equivalent combination of education and heavy relevant experience will be considered)
- Minimum of 2 Years of hands-on experience in automotive manufacturing quality
- At least 2 years of dedicated laboratory or dimensional inspection experience
- Advance proficiency and direct experience with
Automotive Core Tools:
APQP, PPAP, FMEA
(Design and Process), and 8D problem-solving methodologies- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical standards, critical characteristics, Engineering Change Notification (ECN) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English
- Comfortable in a multicultural workplace
- Reliable team player who remains calm, focused, and adaptable under pressure or during fast-paced operational shifts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint)
- Strong negotiation skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Primarily an open office setting (moderate noise) with regular interaction on the manufacturing plant floor
- Strict adherence to personal attire standards and mandatory PPE (Safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protections) while on manufacturing floor.
- Ability to stand, walk and sit for extended durations; must be able to occasionally lift and move up to 30 pounds.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of work hours to subsidiary plants, customer sites, and supplier facilities.
- Will be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen pounds.
