As a Coating Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all coatings applied to large machined or fabricated structures meet strict contract and specification requirements. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects, collaborate with skilled production teams, and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality products. Responsibilities Perform inspections of complex coatings applied to large machined or fabricated structures, ensuring compliance with contract and specification requirements. Complete daily inspections in the coatings department to verify adherence to all relevant standards and requirements. Verify equipment setup, proper equipment use, surface preparation, and the correct application of coatings. Document inspection results using computer-generated forms and submit daily inspection reports. Communicate clearly with production personnel regarding project requirements to maintain quality standards. Coordinate and interface with outside inspectors on various projects as needed. Work in environments that require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing scaffolds or elevated platforms. Lift and/or move items over 50 pounds as required by the job. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Current
NACE CIP
Level 2 or AMPP Coating Inspector Certification. At least 2 years of experience reading and understanding drawings and specifications. Minimum 2 years of experience performing coating inspections on industrial movable structures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude. Ability to meet physical requirements, including vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. m. Monday thru Thursday Reports to Plant Manager Our manufacturing environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety protocols. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally encounter moving mechanical parts, elevated work areas, fumes or airborne particles, varying weather conditions, temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, and the presence of chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, and appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and required to ensure a safe working experience. Physical Capabilities for Success This role involves an active and engaging work environment. To excel, you will regularly utilize your ability to stand, walk, sit, and use your hands for handling and reaching. Occasional requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, and the ability to discern smells. You should be capable of occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Key visual abilities for this position encompass close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, all crucial for precision work.
