Job Description

Overview The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality, process control, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the manufacturing operation. This position serves as a key resource for quality assurance activities, laboratory testing, data analysis, nonconformance management, and quality system compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can work independently, collaborate across departments, and drive improvements that enhance product performance and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Analyze quality and process data to identify trends, reduce variation, and drive corrective and preventive actions. Develop, revise, and maintain quality standards, procedures, work instructions, and inspection documentation. Coordinate and support qualification activities for new materials, products, and process changes. Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Process Change Orders (PCOs) to ensure proper documentation and implementation. Conduct routine process audits and inspections to verify compliance with established procedures and operating standards. Maintain calibration systems and records for measuring equipment, gauges, and testing instruments. Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities and the disposition of nonconforming materials. Assist with root cause investigations and implementation of corrective actions. Support employee training related to quality requirements, inspection methods, testing procedures, and quality system expectations. Participate in internal and external audits and assist in maintaining compliance with customer and quality management system requirements. Qualifications Experience using quality tools and problem-solving methodologies, including 5 Why Analysis, Pareto Analysis, Cause-and-Effect Diagrams, and FMEA. Knowledge of calibration systems, measurement system analysis (MSA), and Gage R&R studies. Experience working within a structured quality management system and supporting customer or third-party audits. Hands-on experience performing polymer testing, including Melt Flow Index (MFI), FTIR, and DSC analysis. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in plastics manufacturing, or polymer processing. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Experience with InfinityQS SPC Software. Prior experience supporting corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
