Job Description
Position Summary The CMM Technician is responsible for performing precision dimensional inspections and ensuring product quality through the operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM). The role requires a strong understanding of GD&T, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with production, engineering, and quality teams to uphold SFI's commitment to excellence and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Operate and program CMM equipment, such as Hexagon Absolute Arm to perform dimensional inspections on precision-machined components. Develop, modify, and optimize CMM programs using software such as PolyWorks Inspector Perform First Article Inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with design and customer specifications. Interpret complex blueprints and CAD models using GD&T principles. Generate accurate and detailed inspection reports for internal use and customer documentation. Support calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment to ensure measurement accuracy. Work with production and engineering teams to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues. Assist in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions to reduce non-conformances. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized inspection area in compliance with company and OSHA standards. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Department.
