Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
Join our dynamic team as a Quality Control Technician, where your keen eye and dedication will ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. In this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough quality inspections, implementing quality assurance protocols, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
1. Inspect incoming components and purchased parts to ensure they meet company quality standards, specifications, and drawings. 2. Perform incoming quality audits to verify supplier compliance with dimensional, visual, and documentation requirements. 3. Verify that all incoming materials match purchase orders, part numbers, and revision levels. 4. Use inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to confirm conformance. 5. Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials according to company quality procedures. 6. Place suspect or non-conforming materials on hold or quarantine status until disposition is determined. 7. Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation for traceability and quality reporting. 8. Maintain regular communication with the Purchasing Department to: Confirm which incoming components require priority inspection. Coordinate inspection based on production needs and supplier deliveries. Ensure urgent materials required for production are inspected promptly. 9. Notify purchasing and management of quality issues with suppliers that could impact production schedules. 10. Assist in tracking and reporting supplier quality performance issues when necessary. When inspection workload allows, the Quality Control Technician may assist warehouse operations by: 11. Pulling customer orders from inventory according to packing lists and order requirements. 12. Assisting in the packaging and preparation of orders for shipment. 13. Verifying correct part numbers, quantities, and packaging standards before shipment. 14. Supporting inventory organization and material handling as needed. 15. Other duties as may be assigned
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY
    • Basic knowledge of quality inspection methods and procedures.
    • Understanding of dimensional measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other basic precision instruments.
    • Basic ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and part numbers.
    • Understanding of incoming inspection processes and supplier quality requirements.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing and warehouse environments, including basic material handling and inventory practices.
    • Knowledge of quality documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
    • Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and verifying specifications.
    • Ability to accurately measure and inspectcomponents using appropriate measuring tools.
    • Good organizational and prioritization skills, especially when managing multiple incoming shipments requiring inspection.
    • Effective communication skills to coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and production teams regarding inspection priorities.
    • Ability to identify and document non-conforming materials clearly and accurately.
    • Basic computer skills for entering inspection results, reports, or inventory information.
    EDUCATON AND WORK EXPERIENCE
    High school diploma or GED required 1-year practical work experience in parts inspection
    PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
    Physical Demands:
    The essential functions of the position require frequent standing, finger dexterity in non-dominant hand, field of vision, accommodation and color vision, walking, repetitive use of and finger dexterity with both hands, reaching overhead, bending over, lifting/carrying of up to 25 lbs., and driving a vehicle and forklift/pallet jack.
    Mental Demands:
    The essential functions of the position require the ability to read and write complex material, perform simple and complex math calculations, and the ability to perform simple and complex tasks, work in a noisy environment, coordinate activities, follow instructions, meet time requirements, memorization, problem solving through use of independent judgment and decision-making skills.
    WORKING CONDITIONS
    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high and the employee typically works in a climate-controlled environment but also is exposed to the elements outdoors on occasion. Work may entail the use of large equipment, such as forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks. Work may also entail the use of handheld equipment such as measuring devices, scales, and scanners. The employee works with others, around others, alone on occasion, with verbal and face-to-face contact. Ability to work a flexible schedule as overtime may be required on occasion to meet shipping demands.
    Pay:
    $15.15 per hour
