ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Technician plays a hands-on role in Adept Life Sciences' Quality Assurance and Quality Control functions, performing in-process inspections, sampling, and testing on the production floor to ensure every batch meets specification before moving to the next stage. This role is a critical checkpoint between Production and Quality Assurance, catching issues early and helping maintain audit-ready compliance in a highly regulated, high-stakes manufacturing environment. Schedule is 6:00AM-2:30PM

M-F KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

In-Process Quality Inspection Perform in-process inspections and quality checks throughout the production process, including component verification, weight checks, fill checks, and visual inspections. Conduct line clearance activities prior to changeovers and at the start of production runs to prevent product mix-ups and contamination. Pull and label in-process samples according to sampling plans and specifications. Verify label accuracy, lot coding, and packaging specifications during production runs. Document inspection results accurately and in real time on batch records and quality forms. Testing & Sampling Perform basic physical testing (e.g., weight, fill volume, disintegration, tablet hardness) as required by product specifications. Collect retain samples and stability samples in accordance with SOPs. Coordinate with the QC lab for submission and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods. Support environmental monitoring activities (e.g., swabbing, air quality checks) as applicable. Compliance & Documentation Complete batch record entries, checklists, and inspection logs accurately and legibly, in accordance with GMP documentation practices. Identify and document deviations, non-conformances, or out-of-specification results, and escalate promptly to the Quality team. Support root cause investigations and corrective actions related to in-process quality issues. Maintain calibration and preventive maintenance schedules for quality-related equipment (scales, gauges, testing instruments). Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with Production operators and supervisors to communicate quality holds, rework needs, and line stoppages. Partner with the Quality Assurance and Document Control team to ensure inspection data supports batch release. Support Warehouse and Shipping teams by verifying finished goods meet quality and labeling requirements prior to release. General & Administrative Maintain a clean, organized, and GMP-compliant work area, including quality inspection stations and retain sample storage. Assist with internal audits and regulatory inspections by providing requested inspection records. Perform other duties as assigned to support the Quality department and company objectives.

Product Quality & Compliance In-process inspections are performed thoroughly, accurately, and on schedule for every batch. Deviations and out-of-specification results are caught early and documented completely. Batch records and quality forms are complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Floor Partnership Production teams trust the Quality Technician as a fair, consistent, and responsive quality partner. Line clearances and changeovers happen efficiently with minimal production downtime. Audit Readiness Inspection records, retain samples, and calibration logs are organized and easy to produce during audits. Internal and third-party audits proceed smoothly with minimal quality-technician-related findings.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a science-related field a plus.

SKILLS REQUIRED

1+ years of experience in a quality control, quality assurance, or manufacturing inspection role, preferably within nutraceutical, dietary supplement, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Working knowledge of GMP requirements (21 CFR Part 111 and/or Part 117) and basic quality control principles. Comfortable using basic measurement and testing equipment (scales, calipers, hardness testers, and similar tools). Strong attention to detail with the ability to catch discrepancies quickly and consistently. Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout a production floor for extended periods. Basic computer skills, including data entry into quality systems or spreadsheets. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and communicate with Production staff. Maintain a regular and dependable attendance record with the ability to commit to at least 40 hours weekly, including flexibility to support production schedules.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

) Experience with electronic batch records or an electronic quality management system (eQMS). Familiarity with audits from FDA, NSF, USP, or other third-party certification bodies. Experience with basic lab testing equipment or environmental monitoring procedures.
