East Mesa Job Description The Quality Technician supports manufacturing operations by ensuring that products and processes meet established quality standards. This role focuses on root cause analysis, process audits, and the creation and maintenance of inspection plans and work instructions to prevent defects and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities Support root cause analysis activities for quality issues using structured methods such as 5 Whys. Perform process audits to verify adherence to established standards, procedures, and work instructions. Assist in maintaining and updating inspection plans to ensure they reflect current processes and quality requirements. Document processes clearly and accurately, and create detailed work instructions for production and quality activities. Conduct quality inspections to identify and correct defects in finished products through inspections and testing. Contribute to quality assurance efforts by supporting proactive processes aimed at preventing defects across the production process. Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and implement corrective and preventive actions. Apply basic problem-solving skills to identify issues, analyze data, and recommend improvements. Interpret blueprints and production documentation to perform accurate quality checks. Essential Skills Extensive experience in quality control, including identifying and correcting defects in finished products through inspections and testing. Strong experience in quality assurance, with a focus on proactive processes to prevent defects throughout the production process. Hands-on experience in quality inspection, ensuring products or services meet defined quality standards. Ability to support root cause analysis activities for quality issues using tools such as 5 Whys. Experience performing process audits to ensure adherence to standards and work instructions. Ability to maintain and update inspection plans and work instructions. Proficiency in documenting processes and creating clear, detailed work instructions. Basic problem-solving skills applied in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints for quality checks. Manufacturing quality experience preferred, or general manufacturing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with production processes in a manufacturing environment. Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic setting with evolving processes. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. Work Environment This role is based in an air-conditioned, modern manufacturing facility equipped with industry 4.0 technology. The physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb a portable ladder. The position requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to handle tools, components, and inspection equipment safely and effectively. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mesa, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
