Full Job Description Quality Control Mechanical Inspector CMM Programmer PC-DMIS Quality Assurance Organization:

General Manager Job Description Summary / Objective The position requires a wide range of duties and skills and the successful candidate will have a balanced mix of skills: effective communication skills, basic computer skills, hands on mechanical inspection experience, CMM exposure, gage calibration, reviewing vendor processing certs, etc.. Must be able to communicate effectively with suppliers and our customers and co workers. This position performs receiving inspection, in process, final product mechanical inspection, complete AS9100 inspection reports. Perform hands on physical dimensional checking and also review paperwork and certifications from suppliers and vendors.Essential Job Duties:
- Work closely and communicate effectively with the Quality Manager and Production Manager to achieve product quality and production goals.
- Communicate with customers regarding quality issues. Respond to Customer corrective action requests.
- Perform daily mechanical parts inspection functions using surface plate and or CMM inspection tools. : perform in-process, first article reports, final dimensional inspection.
- Inspect parts using inspection hand tools, such as mics, indicators, height gages, optical comparitor, surface plate inspection techniques, etc.
- Operate CMM to inspect parts. PCDMIS experience is desired. Programming PCDMIS is required.
- Read and interpret
GD&T ANSI Y14.5
engineering drawings- Review material and processing certifications for compliance to Aerospace standards and confirm if in accordance with planning and customer specifications.
- Dimensionally inspect precision machined parts using mics, surface plate inspection techniques, CMM tools, optical comparator, thread and plug gages.
- Inspect raw metals for size, condition, conformance to specifications.
- Complete logs, scan paperwork, file online, email.
- Support the Operations Manager and Quality Manger or Supervisor as required.
Skills Requirements:
- 5 years prior QA hands on mechanical inspection experience, or prior machine shop experience as a machinist will substitute.
- Experience using inspection hand tools, such as mics, indicators, height gages, thread gages, etc. inspecting precision machined parts.
- Ability to read and interpret
GD&T ANSI Y14.5
engineering drawings for machined parts.- Experience using PcDMIS CMM inspection software.
- Computer skills, such as email use, MS Word, Excel creation, scanning, PDF file saving,
- US Citizenship required or equivalent for our ITAR US Govt contracts.
- Effective communications and skills: must be able to effectively speak, write emails and telephone communications with the suppliers and customers.
- Must be fluent in English and able to communicate effectively as above.
- Attention to detail, ability to read, write. Cognitive ability to perform the job with a minimum of errors or omissions.
- Familiarity with machine shop processes or machining aircraft grade metals.
