THIS IS A SECOND SHIFT POSITION!
Summary:
The CMM Operator supports company efforts to ensure that deliverables comply with customer, company, quality, industry and regulatory requirements. The operator provides support in an engineering development environment and is responsible for developing and writing CMM programs to check high precision machined components which includes first article and production inspection programs. The Operator will also provide clear feedback to production, engineering and operations to communicate the inspection results. They provide input on quality strategies, goals, objectives and related metrics to ensure alignment with Company vision/strategy. The CMM Operator provides regular reports on agreed metrics / key performance indicators as they relate to program performance, contract requirements and customer expectation. Required Qualification Quality Assurance experience of 5+ years in CNC or Conventionally machined parts. At least 1 year experience operating CMM. Experience with CALYPSO and Gear Pro software preferred, but not required. Experience with
ISO 9000 / AS9100
requirements Must be able to pass visual acuity requirements. Knowledge of basic math as well as advanced algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and their applications as they relate to quality control Ability to read blueprints, specifications and routers and interpret GD&T per
ASME Y14.5-2018
Ability to follow and complete required inspection documentation Ability to effectively communicate Ability to pay attention to detail Able to work with large parts and very tight tolerances. Ability to use inspection equipment such as a CMM machine, micrometer, caliper, height gage, plug gages and a vision system/comparator Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned) Perform dimensional inspections on manufactured parts using CMMs and other precision measuring instruments Assure CMM programs are generated correctly and follow customer requirements Ability to troubleshoot and fix existing programs. Maintain program files Record and complete required inspection documentation Notify supervisors or other personnel about technical production problems Read CAD files, blueprints, data, manuals, routers, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, or measuring instruments required for inspection Ability to train new operators and other operator on new techniques and CMM operation Inspect and test for blueprint and template specifications for uniformity and conformance. Measures centrelines and reference points & verifies assembly layout and machine setup Verifies physical properties and size of materials & hole sizes Examines finished products for rough edges, cracks, and appearance Marks parts for acceptance or rejection Complete IPR's, OPR's and CCA Comply and promote company policies pertaining to Code of Conduct, shop safety practices and policies. Issue, know and execute PAS Quality procedures Familiar with company's products and processes Knows, adheres and executes PAS mission statement Perform other duties as assigned To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Physical Demands and Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee needs to be aware that this position is physically straining. The ability to cope with stress and multiple tasks is essential. Employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
