Job Title:
Quality Control Lab Technician Job Description As a Quality Control Lab Technician, you will conduct inspections and testing on raw materials and sub-assemblies to identify non-conforming materials and products. You will assist in evaluating non-conformances and perform routine and non-routine testing of sub-assemblies and finished products with limited supervision. This role requires compiling data for evaluating department Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and assisting with validating inspection and testing processes. Responsibilities Perform dimensional inspections on raw materials and incoming components. Conduct testing on prototype and production products to support Product Development, Quality, and Manufacturing Technology engineers. Utilize automated vertical tension and compression machines for testing. Perform flow testing using various flow measurement and pressure systems. Develop and maintain lab apparatus and test methods. Ensure performance and calibration of lab equipment are maintained. Prepare sample products for testing and maintain proper documentation for product traceability. Assist in ordering lab supplies, standards, solvents, and track inventory. Collaborate with Product Development and Quality engineers to improve testing methodologies and SOPs. Document all work on appropriate forms as required by test protocols and SOPs. Utilize and maintain a laboratory notebook. Comply with safety and operating policies and procedures regarding equipment, materials, and finished products. Test components, in-process, and finished products independently following established SOPs and WIs. Perform quality material and product measuring, testing, and release using established SOPs and WIs. Interpret engineering specifications and drawings, perform inspections, product segregation, and verification. Maintain department documentation, inventory of measurement equipment, and ensure calibration and preventive maintenance records for inspection equipment are current. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required. Perform set-up/preparation of equipment, cleaning, changeover of lines, and general housekeeping. Maintain a safe work environment and thoroughly read and understand material safety data sheets (SDS). Perform verification and validation activities in accordance with company QMS, ISO, and FDA standards. Understand and apply GDP, GLP, and ensure work is performed in compliance with company policies. Essential Skills Mechanical troubleshooting and testing skills. High attention to detail. Ability to work with repetitive, process-driven tasks. Experience with QSRs and cGMP. Experience utilizing sampling methodologies and tools. Proficiency in measuring materials with visual inspection systems. Experience with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with others and contribute effectively as a team member. Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow instructions, and multi-task. Additional Skills & Qualifications HS Diploma or equivalent required, with some post high school technical training preferred. 4+ years relevant QC Inspection experience, preferably in an FDA-regulated industry. Prior lab or hands-on testing experience preferred. Experience with medical device consumer products is a plus. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a cleanroom environment alongside two other technicians, focusing on testing Infusion Sets (Sedi set cannulas) in a highly repetitive mechanical lab setting. No gowning is required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
