You have strong knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, fixturing, measurement techniques, calibration, and measurement uncertainty. You take pride in producing accurate, repeatable measurements and understand how inspection data supports both manufacturing and engineering teams.
This position pays:
$35-$45 per hour What you will be doing Program and operate CMMs, optical measurement systems, and 3D scanners to inspect parts against drawings and GD&T requirements. Develop fixturing and datum strategies to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements. Respond to inspection requests from research and production teams and communicate results clearly and effectively. Perform first article inspections, dimensional inspections, and generate inspection reports and scan data. Maintain calibration schedules and monitor instrument condition, escalating equipment issues or measurement concerns as needed. Conduct gage R&R and repeatability studies to evaluate measurement accuracy and uncertainty. Identify when dimensional issues may indicate a manufacturing process problem and collaborate with machinists and process engineers to determine root causes. Follow and reinforce safety, training, equipment check-in/check-out, and shop standards. Support manufacturing and engineering teams by providing accurate, timely, and actionable measurement data. What you bring Hands-on experience operating and programming CMMs , including fixturing, probing strategies, and alignment. Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation. Experience with 3D scanning and optical measurement , including scan-to-CAD comparison workflows. Working knowledge of calibration, measurement traceability, and measurement uncertainty. Strong attention to detail and the ability to distinguish actual part deviations from measurement artifacts. A service-oriented approach with the ability to prioritize and respond to requests from multiple teams. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. A commitment to accuracy, quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Ability to identify and raise concerns when a part, process, or measurement does not meet requirements.
