Giles Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing Supervisor to lead and oversee our field technicians throughout Orange County and Southern California. Our CMT operation encompasses different aspects of construction, including soils, concrete, asphalt, structural steel, and other building materials. This position plays an important role in the construction process by ensuring testing and inspection services are performed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards. We are looking for a motivated and experienced leader who can supervise technicians, provide technical direction, coordinate project schedules, maintain client relationships, and ensure high-quality service to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team and take on a leadership role with responsibility for both field operations and client service. Responsibilities Supervise, mentor, and provide technical direction to Construction Materials Testing and Inspection Technicians. Provide technical oversight of field testing and inspection activities. Coordinate technician assignments and manage daily and upcoming project schedules. Communicate with clients, contractors, engineers, and project managers to coordinate field services and address project needs. Review field reports, testing documentation, and inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Ensure technicians follow appropriate testing procedures, project specifications, and company quality-control standards. Assist technicians with technical questions and provide guidance when field issues arise. Monitor project progress and help ensure field services are completed efficiently and on schedule. Assist with project invoicing, including reviewing field hours, testing services, and project-related charges. Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities to provide additional services. Address client concerns promptly and work with project management to resolve issues. Maintain accurate project records and documentation. Assist with technician training, certifications, and professional development. Ensure technicians maintain required certifications and follow all applicable safety procedures. Perform field testing and inspections as needed to support project demands and staff. Travel to construction sites throughout Orange County and Southern California. Required Qualifications Previous experience in Construction Materials Testing and Inspection. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. ACI certification required. Nuclear Density Gauge certification required. Strong knowledge of construction materials testing procedures and industry standards. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications. Excellent organizational, communication, and client-service skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, technicians, schedules, and priorities. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Why Giles Engineering?
