Job Description

Quality Assurance Technician Location:
Rohnert Park, CA Pay:
$22-$24 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday, second shift or swing shift We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position will spend approximately 80 percent of the workday on the production floor, monitoring operations, conducting inspections, reviewing documentation, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Conduct quality and food safety audits throughout production and non-production areas. Complete pre-startup inspections, including room clearance and equipment checks. Review production and batch documentation for accuracy and compliance. Verify that materials and finished products meet established specifications. Perform environmental monitoring, including ATP, microbial, and allergen swabbing. Conduct production line tours and equipment audits during startup, changeovers, tank changes, and regular operations. Perform sanitation inspections before, during, and after cleaning. Collect and submit analytical and microbiological samples for testing. Assist with sensory evaluations of in-process and finished products. Identify quality concerns and work with production employees to correct issues. Place materials or products on hold when requirements are not met. Prepare daily reports regarding out-of-specification materials, test results, and operating conditions. Maintain chemical supplies and inventory used for quality testing. Support regulatory, customer, organic, kosher, non-GMO, and third-party audits. Train employees on quality procedures and food safety practices. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and workplace safety requirements. Qualifications Previous quality assurance experience in food manufacturing or food processing is required. Experience working with inspectors, auditors, or certifying agencies is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office. Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and other technology. Able to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred but not required. Interest in organic food, sustainability, and responsible business practices is preferred. Must be flexible to work weekends, holidays, alternate shifts, or after-hours when operationally necessary. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Able to work in a manufacturing environment with noise levels of up to 90 decibels. Comfortable working in cold, wet, humid, and high-allergen environments. Able to tolerate temperatures ranging from minus 10 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly climb stairs. Able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements. Able to lift, carry, and hold up to 55 pounds without assistance. Must have the ability to evaluate products using sight, smell, taste, and hearing.
