Job Description
ROLE SUMMARY
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector performs quality inspections on incoming materials used for manufacturing and manufactured finished goods. Inspect materials, parts, and products at different stages of production. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.Lead Inspector only:
Help coordinate day-to-day Quality inspection duties. Support QC decision-making and minor conflict resolution in the absence of the Quality Inspection Supervisor. Oversee proper and timely team completion of quality inspections. Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.Essential Job Functions:
QC INSPECTION
Manual/visual inspection of materials and finished goods, with or without the aid of inspection equipment. Lift and move materials and finished goods between inspection points, as part of the quality inspection process. Non-destructive or destructive testing according to quality standards. Complete documentation of quality inspection reports, including process deviations and nonconformance reports for rejections, as applicable. Tracking and documenting inventory counts of materials and finished goods that are received, inspected, accepted, retained, and/or scrapped out (i.e., rejected). Tracking and documenting the status (i.e., quarantined, released, rejected, etc.) of materials and finished goods that are awaiting or have completed quality inspection.LEAD ACTIVITIES
Enforce and maintain quality inspection standards Provide any necessary support and ensure proper completion of all QC inspection activities Make decisions regarding quality inspections, under the guidance of Quality management, in the absence of the Quality Inspection Supervisor Support minor conflict resolution in the absence of the Quality Inspection SupervisorEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Required:
0-1 years performing manual/visual inspection of products and/or component materials.Note :
at least one (1) year is required for Lead Inspector consideration. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Bilingual English/Spanish preferredMATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Compute rate, ratio and percentage, and draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts inside the warehouse and/or manufacturing environments. The team member is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. When working in the warehouse and/or manufacturing areas, distinct smells may be noticeably moderate to strong. The temperature in warehouse areas may not be controlled; therefore, it may be very warm or very cold for periods of time.
