PM Pay Rate:
$23.50-24.00/hour
Type:
Full-Time/Non-Exempt Position Overview Guidex Group is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector to verify that machined and ground metal materials meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role involves measuring, documenting, and reporting material dimensions and tolerances throughout the production process. Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect metal plates and materials using precision measuring tools to verify thickness, width, length, flatness, and other required dimensions against customer specifications.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports and material traceability documentation, including heat numbers, test numbers, and/or lot numbers.
  • Identify and promptly report nonconforming or out-of-tolerance material to the lead, supervisor, or Quality Manager.
  • Maintain accurate, legible inspection records for every batch or job inspected.
  • Communicate discrepancies and quality concerns clearly and promptly with production and quality personnel.
  • Follow established safety, quality, and work procedures and maintain an orderly work area.
  • Assist with related quality or production duties as operational needs require. Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a machine shop, metal inspection, machining, grinding, or related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of non-digital (analog/mechanical) micrometers preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic specifications, tolerances, work orders, and inspection instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurement and documentation.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of surface finish and flatness requirements preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple jobs and communicate effectively across a team. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; team lift or mechanical assistance should be used when appropriate.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
