We provide quality equipment to some of the largest trade show facilities and contractors in North America. www.gehrpowersystems.com SUMMARY Gehr Power Systems is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform in-process mechanical inspections, 100% electrical testing, and final quality checks on the production floor. This role also inspects incoming materials for UL compliance and specifications. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality are essential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform physical quality inspections and testing on manufactured and imported products. Monitor production schedules and inspect completed units promptly to keep production moving and prevent bottlenecks. Conduct in-process visual inspections, mechanical pull-tests, and wiring verification. Perform 100% electrical testing, including polarity and continuity checks. Stage approved products for shipping and complete required production documentation. Track quality data, including first-pass yield, defects, operator performance, and scrap. Inspect incoming overseas products for UL compliance, specifications, labeling, and product quality; perform physical and destructive testing as required. Troubleshoot returned products, identify root causes, document findings, and recommend disposition. Review work orders before production to verify inspection criteria and identify missing or incorrect specifications. Maintain accurate QC records and collaborate with Engineering and Management to resolve quality and production issues. Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of quality control or manufacturing assembly experience. Experience using electrical testers, continuity testers, calipers, and other QC tools. Basic knowledge of electricity, wiring, AC/DC power, and wire/cable products. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift/move products up to 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Good communication, teamwork, basic math, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems.
Preferred:
Experience with wire harnesses, cable assemblies, or power distribution systems. Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. Experience with ISO 9001, quality systems, and ERP software. NetSuite ERP experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and occasionally lift or move products up to 50 lbs. Frequent use of hands and fingers for inspection and testing tasks. Must follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE around machinery and electrical testing areas. Work environment has a moderate noise level.
