CMM Programmer /
Quality Inspector Pay:
$Up to $45/hr depending on experience. Job Description This role combines hands-on coordinate measuring machine (CMM) programming with in-process and final inspection responsibilities in an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will program and operate CMM equipment, perform first article inspections, and ensure products meet strict quality control standards by conducting detailed inspections, internal audits, and equipment troubleshooting. Responsibilities Perform in-process inspections to verify product quality during manufacturing. Conduct final inspections to ensure finished products meet all specifications and quality standards. Carry out first article inspections and document results in accordance with applicable requirements. Implement and adhere to established quality control operating standards and procedures. Program and operate coordinate measuring machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS and related software. Use Hexagon CMM systems with PC-DMIS to create, modify, and run inspection programs. Operate and program Faro Arm equipment using Verisurf 2022 software for dimensional inspections. Perform calibration-related tasks on CMM and related inspection equipment as required. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with inspection equipment and measurement processes. Work with pipe, metal components, and kits, ensuring they meet dimensional and quality requirements. Conduct visual inspections to detect defects, nonconformances, and irregularities. Conduct internal audits of quality processes and document findings in a clear and timely manner. Prepare and maintain inspection reports and related documentation using Outlook, Word, and Excel. Collaborate with production and quality teams to address nonconformances and support continuous improvement. Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures in an aerospace machine shop environment. Essential Skills Hands-on experience performing in-process, final, and first article inspections. Proficiency in programming and operating CMM equipment. PC-DMIS programming experience for creating and running CMM inspection routines. Experience with Hexagon CMM systems using PC-DMIS. Experience operating and programming Faro Arm equipment with Verisurf 2022 software. Knowledge of CMM operations, calibration practices, and dimensional inspection methods. Ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues related to inspection and measurement. Experience working with pipe, metal components, and kits in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for documentation and reporting. Experience performing visual inspections to identify defects and nonconformances. Experience conducting and reporting internal quality audits. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow quality control operating standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
