Job Title:
CNC Programmer Job Description This role focuses on programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC machining operations while supporting quality inspection activities in a precision manufacturing environment. You will create and modify CNC programs, use advanced CAD/CAM tools, and contribute to consistent, high-quality production. Responsibilities Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs to support efficient and accurate machining operations. Use Mastercam and related CAD/CAM tools to create toolpaths and machining strategies for various components. Collaborate with machining personnel to set up CNC machines and verify that programs run safely and effectively. Perform or support quality inspection activities using CMM programming and other quality tools to ensure parts meet specifications. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation to program and validate machining processes. Troubleshoot and adjust CNC programs and machining parameters to improve cycle times, surface finish, and dimensional accuracy. Document programs, setups, and process changes to maintain consistent production and traceability. Work closely with quality and production teams to resolve machining and inspection issues in a timely manner. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety and operational procedures. Essential Skills 2-3 years of previous experience in quality inspection and CNC programming. Proficiency in CNC programming for machining operations. Hands-on experience using Mastercam for creating and modifying CNC programs. Experience with CMM programming and quality inspection processes. Ability to read and interpret CAD models and engineering drawings. Working knowledge of CAD software, including SolidWorks. Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and manufacturing processes. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience integrating CNC programming with quality inspection workflows. Experience in precision machining environments. Ability to collaborate effectively with machinists, engineers, and quality personnel. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining and programming issues. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a shift-based role in a manufacturing facility with structured training and defined schedules. Training occurs on first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for approximately 60-90 days. After training, the position may follow a second shift schedule from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, or a weekend shift from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday. You will work in a hands-on shop environment operating CNC equipment, using CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks, and performing quality checks with CMM and related tools. The setting requires adherence to standard safety practices and appropriate industrial attire suitable for a machining and inspection environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
