Bakery Production Lead ($25-$30 DOE) La Patisserie Francaise Arvada, CO Job Details Part-time | Full-time $24 - $32 an hour 19 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance 401(k) matching Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Bakery experience ServSafe Customer service Shift management Team development Full Job Description
ONE BAKERY. ONE SHARED DAY.
We need a hands-on production leader who can make beautiful products, coordinate people and information, and keep production and customer service moving as one team. The opportunity La Patisserie Francaise is an established scratch French bakery serving the Denver metro area. Our work begins with butter, flour, dough, fruit, chocolate, and technique—and becomes croissants, tart shells, fillings, cookies, pastries, custom cakes, wedding desserts, and the small celebrations our customers entrust to us. Production is the center of this role. You will make a significant hands-on contribution every day while coordinating the flow of the bakery during your shift: production priorities, quality, routine staffing adjustments, communication with front-of-house, customer-support needs, and the handoff to the next shift. This is not a Store Manager or office-based supervisor position. It is also more than being the strongest baker at one station. You lead beside the team and remain accountable for how the whole day comes together. What you will do
  • Personally produce scratch doughs, cookie doughs, tart shells, fillings, finished pastries, and other products based on training and daily needs.
  • Coordinate production priorities, timing, dependencies, and quality across employees and shifts.
  • Protect La Patisserie Francaise's standards before products reach customers; stop, correct, coach, and verify when something is not right.
  • Serve as the team's first resource for routine production and operational questions.
  • Request approved coverage and make routine staffing adjustments when kitchen or front-of-house employees call out.
  • Coordinate temporary help from appropriately cross-trained employees—or assist customers personally—when that is best for the bakery.
  • Keep front-of-house informed about product availability, timing, order status, substitutions, and delays.
  • Coach employees while working beside them so the team becomes more skilled, consistent, and independent.
  • Create clear handoffs so work and information flow continuously between shifts.
  • Solve routine disruptions within your authority and involve the owners only when the issue truly requires owner-level judgment. What success looks like
  • Scratch-made products and committed orders meet our quality and timing standards.
  • Front-of-house receives accurate information early enough to serve customers confidently.
  • Routine call-outs, delays, shortages, and rushes are handled with minimal owner involvement.
  • Kitchen and front-of-house support the same customer instead of protecting separate departments.
  • Customers experience one calm, coordinated bakery—even when the day changes unexpectedly.
  • You remain a respected, productive member of the team while helping everyone around you perform better. What you bring
  • Commercial bakery, pastry, or comparable scratch food-production experience.
  • Experience leading production while personally contributing to the work.
  • A strong quality mindset and the confidence to address a missed standard respectfully.
  • Clear communication, sound routine judgment, and dependable follow-through.
  • Experience teaching, coaching, coordinating shifts, or becoming the person coworkers naturally rely on.
  • Willingness and ability to work early mornings, weekends, and key bakery holidays. Especially helpful
  • Experience with French pastry, viennoiserie, tarts, fillings, cookies, cakes, or high-volume scratch production.
  • Experience coordinating production handoffs, routine shift coverage, quality controls, or customer-order communication.
  • ServeSafe Manager Certification or willingness to obtain required certification.
