The quality engineer will be responsible to support all quality control and inspection efforts to ensure all parts meet customer prints and align with established best practices. This role reports to the head of engineering. Responsibilities Conduct first article, sample, and fully documented inspections Operate calipers, scales, and other inspection equipment Identify priority jobs in the quality queuing area Read job travelers and assess created parts against orders Produce first article, sample, and fully documented inspection reports and certificates of conformance Uphold AS9100D and
ISO 9001
standards Pack finished parts carefully in bags, boxes, and pallets as necessary Maintain accurate inventory of spares and pending finished goods Identify needed consumables and equipment repairs and upgrades Manage quality equipment calibration schedules Receive customer returns and start complaint resolution process Operate sanding and grinding equipment as needed Operate hardware installation machines as needed Clean and organize quality area Dispose of trash and scrap metal into appropriate bins Qualifications 5+ years of experience working in a quality inspector or quality officer role 5+ years of reading blueprints, preferably sheet metal blueprints Experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing preferred Experience using calipers, protractors, and related equipment Ability to measure components in a flat part and determine if cutouts are in the correct location Hard-working and humble personality Commitment to solving problems and finding solutions Fluency working on a computer, ideally with experience using Microsoft Office applications and with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and quality compliance platforms Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for eight hours per day Ability to pass a drug test and commit to a drug and substance-free environment Bachelor's degree required Salary and Benefits Compensation dependent on experience: $60,000+, depending on experience Possible quarterly profit-sharing bonuses (over the last year combined, EMJD has paid $3,000 in profit-sharing bonuses to all full-time employees)
