Job Description

We are a continuous casting aluminum rolling mill who established operations in 1984 and located in Fort Lupton Colorado, 35 miles north of downtown Denver. We care about our environment, our people, and our community. We're honored to be selected by the Department of Energy to receive up to $22.3 million in investment supporting our Nexcast Mini Mill and other breakthrough projects which will steer the aluminum industry toward a greener, decarbonized future.
Quality Technician Benefits:

- Work schedule that offers 3-day weekend every other week Position reports to the Quality Supervisor and serves an important support role to ensure processes are under control and continually improved.
Specific duties include:
- Full support and cooperation with Golden Aluminum EHS procedures and practices
- Audit key production processes at least bihourly to ensure consistent product quality and proactively prevent scrap.
- Provide guidance to production teams on quality concerns and assist in making informed decisions, including initiating line stoppages when necessary.
- Real-time inspection and sampling of product.
- Disposition and investigation of product held for quality review potentially completing RCA's as necessary.
- Proper documentation, communication and record keeping as it relates to Quality Management System
- Performing internal procedural audits
- Participation External Audits led by onsite third parties.
- Calibration of measuring and monitoring systems
- Testing/retesting of product, equipment, or other parameters as assigned
- Leading or facilitating problem solving or continuous improvement activities.
- Writing of procedures as assigned
- Training departmental Trainers Operators in defect recognition and quality standards
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification obtainment is required.
- 2+ years of direct experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment is desired. Experience with machine vision surface inspection systems is preferred.
- Prior experience in an
ISO 9001
2015 based Quality Management System is desired.- Competency in basic Control Charting, Auditing, and Calibration is required. Experience with Process FMEA and Control Plans is preferred.
- Ability to read and correctly interpret technical procedures and specifications.
- Ability to communicate quality requirements to operations personnel.
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Solid computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Office products.
