Job Description
Position Summary The Lead Manufacturing Quality Inspector is responsible for overseeing daily quality inspection activities within the manufacturing environment to ensure products meet company standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership and guidance to quality inspectors while supporting production operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and compliance with quality management systems. Teamwork is essential for this position and the incumbent is expected to conduct the quality inspection requirements in a positive collaborative team effort in support of the Cascade Manufacturing culture. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead and coordinate daily activities of quality inspection personnel in a timely manner. Perform and verify in-process, final, and incoming inspections of materials and products Review inspection reports, test results, and quality documentation for accuracy and completeness Ensure products meet engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Identify, document, and escalate non-conforming materials and processes. Train and mentor quality inspectors on inspection techniques, procedures, quality standards and measuring tools. Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities Collaborate with production, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality issues Monitor compliance with company quality systems, safety procedures, and manufacturing standards Lead audits, quality investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives Maintain calibration and proper use of inspection and measurement equipment Other duties as may be assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred 3-5 years of manufacturing quality inspection experience required Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred Strong understanding of quality control processes and manufacturing operations Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMM equipment preferred. Create receiving and manufacturing inspections in 1 Factory system. Proficiency with basic computer systems and quality documentation software Preferred Skills Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, or other quality management systems Familiarity with measuring tools such as digital calipers, vernier calipers, dial calipers, outside, inside, and depth micrometers, height gauges, go/no-go gauges, feeler gauges, pin gauges, thread gauges, Faro arm, optical comparator, and computer visual systems. Knowledge of basic quality control processes, manufacturing processes, ISO standards of compliance and calibration audit and timely internal and external calibration management. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workflow in a fast-paced environment Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds as required Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment for extended periods Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required Work Environment Manufacturing or industrial facility Exposure to machinery, production equipment, and varying noise levels Fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety and product quality
