Crystal Springs Brewing Company cares deeply about its patrons and its community and we are looking for someone who wants to not only grow with us, but help us grow. In our taproom, the Beertender must be familiar with the wide variety of beers we offer and capable of delivering quality customer service. In addition, we are looking for someone who already has or is willing to learn or improve on the qualities and skills listed below:
Basic Responsibilities:
Availability to work part time (1-2 shifts per week) with flexibility and willingness to cover shifts when needed Availability and willingness to work nights and weekends Willingness to learn - we will provide ongoing training materials and hands-on training as needed Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-moving environment, provide attention to detail and an ability to multi-task Must be 21 years or older. Must enjoy working with the public in a positively, friendly manner and must be an effective communicator with customers, co-workers, and management Have the ability to move kegs, operate a hand truck, and able to lift 35-50lbs Demonstrate leadership skills, a positive attitude, and an ability to work with a diverse set of people
Serving Customers:
Greet customers cheerfully and encourage an atmosphere of hospitality in the taproom Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol (TIPS Certification or another state-licensed program is required, but can be taken after hiring) Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons Know how to pour a beer properly according to our standards Collect money for beers served Upsell merchandise to patrons in the taproom Work collaboratively to ensure an optimal customer experience for all our guests Engage customers, make sales and answer questions Know our beers, be able to describe them accurately
Inventory:
Stock bar Complete assigned weekly and monthly inventory tasks Communicate beer and merchandise needs for inventory Track kegs and cases moved to the taproom
Cleaning:
Maintain a clean, friendly and welcoming environment for all guests at all times Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment Clean bars, work areas, and tables Clean bathrooms, mop floors, vacuum carpets, and maintain a clean work environment
Marketing:
Pour or serve CSBC beer at beer festivals and tastings when scheduled. Work with the owners and marketing department to properly market the taproom Actively promote the brewery and taprooms at every opportunity - inside and outside the taproom Actively sell to go beer - ask every customer if they would like to go beer and let them know what we have Know the story of our brewery Be knowledgeable and actively promote upcoming taproom/brewery events Other Duties, listed below, or as assigned: Bartending or wait staff experience desired Knowledge of craft beer, including a basic understanding of beer production (Cicerone Beer Server or similar certification preferred TIPS/Alcohol Serving Certification Required (Company will help staff get certified if needed) Basic familiarity with tablet-based POS systems (Square)
