Job Description
Position Summary:
The Quality Coordinator supports the facility's quality systems through administrative coordination, documentation, and data management. This is primarily a desk-based role focused on maintaining accurate quality records, coordinating sample and reporting workflows, and supporting the QA team with the documentation needed to ensure product safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and track daily hold, retain, and foreign material records, ensuring logs are accurate, current, and properly maintained. Coordinate sample handling and analytical reporting, including reviewing lab results and preparing Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain documentation related to gluten-free, allergen, and micro testing programs. Support finished-goods release activities in Plex by reviewing quality documentation and coordinating hold releases with the QA team. Coordinate and track quality-related sample shipments (e.g., sister samples) and supporting paperwork. Attend and document notes from quality, production, and cross-functional meetings, communicating relevant updates to the QA team. Track and help manage QA supply inventory and ordering. Maintain accurate, organized quality records across tracking logs, spreadsheets, and quality systems. Support scheduling coordination and communication for the QA team. Assist with data entry and documentation related to quality holds, complaints, and other quality assurance activities. Conduct new hire training and onboarding on quality systems, GMPs, and food safety procedures. Responsible for knowledge and adherence to Safe Quality Food (SQF) for Food Manufacturing standards as trained upon annually. Other duties as assigned.PPE Requirements:
Non-slip, closed-toe shoes are required when performing tasks on the production floorOffice/Floor Time:
Approximately 90% office-based and 10% on the production floorPhysical Requirements:
Ability to safely use stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of quality operations in a manufacturing setting. Strong attention to detail and record-keeping accuracy. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact in a positive way with all personnel within the organization and customers. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of Plex or similar quality/ERP systems preferred. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to train and clearly communicate quality and food safety procedures to new employees.Back Up:
