Perform Flying-Probe (FP) testing on prototype and low-volume lots.
Validate AOI and FP data against engineering specifications (IPC-610, IPC-2221).Conduct first-article inspection (FAI) and in-process inspection on critical assemblies.
Collaborate with Process Engineers and Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve identified defects.
Maintain calibration and preventive-maintenance schedules for inspection equipment.
Support root-cause analysis (RCA) activities by providing detailed defect logs and data.
Ensure ESD control and clean-room procedures are observed during inspection activities.
Participate in audit preparation by supplying traceable inspection records and calibration certificates.
An analytical mindset, comfortable with interpreting statistical defect data.
A collaborative spirit to work effectively with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
A focus on continuous improvement to enhance procedures and equipment performance.

SMT Quality Assurance Technician (AOI & Flying Probe)Location:
Arvada, Colorado (Onsite) Role OverviewThis role focuses on ensuring the quality of surface-mount technology (SMT) assemblies through automated inspection. The technician will operate and maintain Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and Flying-Probe (FP) systems, validate data against engineering specifications, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve defects. This position is essential for maintaining high reliability standards for electronic components in a defense and aerospace environment. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain pre-reflow and post-reflow Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems.Perform Flying-Probe (FP) testing on prototype and low-volume lots.

Required QualificationsEducation:
An Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical field is required.Experience:
2-4 years performing AOI and/or flying-probe inspections on SMT lines, preferably in aerospace or defense electronics.Technical Skills:
Proficiency with AOI platforms (e.g., Omron, CyberOptics, Koh Young) and FP equipment (e.g., Teradyne, Advantest). The role requires the ability to read and interpret PCB schematics, Gerber/ODB++ data, and IPC standards, along with familiarity with defect categorization.Software:
Experience with inspection data analysis tools (e.g., AOI reporting suites, NI LabVIEW for probe data, Excel/Power BI for trend analysis).Certifications:
ESD-A/B certification is required. ISO/IEC 17025 or CQT (Certified Quality Technician) is preferred.Other:
The ability to work shift hours, including night shift, is necessary. The position also requires the ability to lift 25 lb and stand for extended periods.
